K-2 Spanish Music
🌎 Welcome to Our Spanish Music Artist-in-residence!
We are so excited to announce a special musical journey for our K-2 students! Supported by the Multilingual Learner Program and generously sponsored by the Gildersleeve Trust, this program introduces our youngest learners to the vibrant world of Spanish language and culture. Each K-2 class will enjoy one dedicated 45 minute visit on May 7, 14, or 21 from our guest teacher, Miss Kaite, where students will explore new vocabulary through rhythm, movement, and song. Learning a second language at a young age boosts cognitive flexibility and empathy; pairing this with music fosters long-term retention, making the learning experience durable and impactful. This "whole-brain" approach reduces the anxiety of learning a new language and replaces it with the simple joy of making music together in a fun, respectful environment.
Families will take some language learning tips in order to continue the language learning at home!Â
