DISTRICT AND SCHOOL COMMUNICATION TO PARENTS

Portland Public Schools uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text, and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number.
We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

  • Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification 

  • Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6 pm 

  • Communicate in your preferred language

  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community

  • Direct message teachers, staff, and other parents

  • Participate in group messages

  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences

  • Sign forms & permission slips, and more from your phone or web portal!

 

 

How do I activate my account? 

If downloading the free mobile app for Android or iOS on your phone, parents/guardians must enter the email or phone number that they have on file with their child’s school. Once entered, ParentSquare will send a verification code to use to finish the account setup.

 

If using the website (ParentSquare Access Link), parents/guardians must click ‘Sign In’, and then under the Sign Up section, enter the email or phone number that they have on file with their child’s school and click Go. ParentSquare will send a link to use to finish the account setup.

 

If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents/guardians should call their child’s school office and ask them to update their contact information. Changes will then be reflected in ParentSquare the following day.

 

We are excited to offer a communication tool that is multi-functional as we aim to engage our families and inform them of important and upcoming information.
