Principal's Message

Good afternoon families,

This week, students participated in a few initial assessments to help us better understand their strengths and focus areas for the upcoming school year. Classes also began diving into the curriculum as students continue learning routines, procedures, and overall life at Brownstone.

Over the past two days, both grade levels attended their first town hall of the year. We focused on school-wide expectations and what those look like across different areas of the building. Each month, we will highlight one specific standard and recognize students who embody it. This month’s focus is on Kindness and Respect.

Additionally, students participated in various team-building activities with our specialist teachers today. About once a month, we like to offer these active, engaging opportunities to foster community here at Brownstone.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a wonderful long weekend,
Joe Santavenere

From the Music Room

Most of our 5th graders have already chosen their music class for the year, but a few students still need to make their selection! If your child is interested in joining the band, please note that spots for certain instrument groups are currently limited due to section size limits. We appreciate your quick response so we can finalize schedules!

If your child hasn't chosen yet, please take a moment to complete this short Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScUZimNHohySR6rfg7r5uFA_uLdjHuzXDrhfRnVbEj6jasVXQ/viewform?usp=header

Any 6th grader wishing to change their music class or instrument this year should reach out directly to our music teacher, Crystal Chausse.
