A Message from Mrs. Graf

It's hard to believe that next week we will be wrapping up the first trimester of the school year! If you haven't already, please be sure to sign up for a parent-teacher conference. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child's teacher and learn more about their progress and growth.

This coming Tuesday, we will take time to honor our veterans with a brief school assembly. We are asking all students and staff to show their patriotic spirit by wearing red, white, and blue! We also invite families to send in a photo of a special veteran in their family. Students will have an opportunity to hold up these photos during our assembly as we recognize and celebrate those who have served. Photos will be returned home and will not remain at school.

We look forward to coming together as a school community to honor our veterans and thank them for their service.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

~Tracey

Vision Screening

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Lions Club KidSight USA program will conduct free vision screenings for all 3rd and 4th-grade students at Gildersleeve on Thursday, November 12th.

Early detection of vision problems is crucial to your child's academic success. These quick, non-invasive screenings are performed by trained volunteers to identify potential vision issues early on.
Key Information:
  • 2nd-Grade Screening: If you would like your 2nd-grade student to be screened as well, please contact me directly.
  • Follow-Up: If the initial screening indicates a potential concern, we will notify you and recommend a comprehensive evaluation with your family eye doctor.
  • Opt-Out & Questions: If you have any questions, or if you wish to OPT OUT (choose not to have your child participate), please contact me by Tuesday, November 10th.
Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy and ready to learn!

Sincerely,
Emily Michalewski, RN
