Student Account Balance Transfer/Refund Request

Connecticut State legislation has provided additional State Transition Assistance for Breakfast and Lunch Expenses (STABLE). Portland Public Schools will provide breakfast and lunch (one per day) at no cost for all students eligible for a reduced meal price for the 2024-2025 school year. Paid lunch pricing and additional meals will be charged at the prices listed below. Both breakfast and lunch are offered in all school cafeterias at designated times each day.  Menus for all meal periods and grade levels can be accessed at the top of this page, along with the free & reduced information.

It is important for households who may qualify for a free or reduced meal price to submit a family meal application to determine a student's eligibility for the 2024-2025 school year and avoid unpaid meal charges. A new application is required each school year. This application and all related free & reduced information may be accessed below on this page. We ask that you submit an application only if you feel your student(s) may qualify.

Families may qualify for free and reduced meals through the school meal application process or through the direct certification process managed by the Connecticut State Department of Social Services (CT DSS). The direct certification process coincides with food assistance programs extended by the CT DSS to families needing this qualified assistance. These programs include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)Temporary Assistance (TANF), and Medicaid. For more information about SNAP or TFA, please refer to the free & reduced info below.
